Life at the Jesuit Community of Colombiere

In the midst of the rolling hills of Michigan, an hours drive north of Detroit, stands Colombiere, a retreat center for the surrounding community – and the home of some sixty Jesuits. The community is a place for retirement and recuperation, both a nursing home and health care center.

Jesuits are assigned here to pray for the Church and the Society of Jesuits, serve at the side of Christ, and build the Kingdom of God. The men say that old age here begins at ninety-three (but there are exceptions to that). Up to that time, you're simply considered "advanced middle age."

Colombriere is home. Filled with brother Jesuits, friends, and colleagues.
And surrounded by a loving and caring staff.

Sometimes difficult and confining, but always warm and compassionate, it's a uniquely special and holy place.
